The Rieck promontory is a promontory on the Pennell Coast of East Antarctica Victoria Land . It towers on the Buell Peninsula at the northwest end of the Anare Mountains .
Scientists from the German expedition GANOVEX I (1979–1980) named it. It is named after Udo Rieck, captain of the ship MS Schepelsturm on this research trip .
