The 810 meter long Riedberg tunnel on the bypass rain ( national highway 11 ) is the only road tunnel in the district of Regen .

It passes under Staatsstrasse 2135 (Rinchnacher Strasse), several municipal roads, a residential area and the Riedberg after it was named. The single-tube tunnel has two lanes, and a rescue tunnel was built in 2014 . To the north of the tunnel, the B 11 was expanded to three lanes in 2010; south of the tunnel, the two-lane federal highway runs from the federal highway 85 at Regen station along the Bavarian Forest Railway to the tunnel.

From November 10, 2014, the tunnel was completely closed until May 4, 2015, as it was upgraded to the current safety standard during this time. Another full closure took place from June 12th to August 14th due to safety problems with the rescue tunnel built in 2014. Traffic was diverted through the city of Regen during both closures. Until November 2015, the enclosures / tunnels of the B 11 in the Deggendorf area were also closed due to upgrading work to increase the safety standard.
