Vineyards on the Kötz
Rieden an der Kötz is a district of Ichenhausen in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ). On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Rieden zu Ichenhausen came as part of the regional reform .
The parish village of Rieden an der Kötz is located about three kilometers northwest of Ichenhausen and can be reached via State Road 2023 .
history
The Lords of Roth had owned the place since the 14th century. Their castle was first mentioned in a document in 1361. In 1656, Hans Dietrich von Roth had to sell vineyards to Baron Isaak von Volmar . His descendants owned vineyards until 1791, when the fief returned to the bishopric of Augsburg . In 1803, as a result of secularization, the place became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria . The castle was demolished in 1807.
