Rienk Onsman

Rienk Onsman (born November 2, 1943 - March 10, 2011 ) was a Dutch football player .

Onsman became a member of Leeuwarder VV Friesland when he was ten . From the amateur club he moved to the second division SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden in 1965 , for which he was active in the Eerste Divisie in the 1960s and 1970s . Together with Sietze Visser , the defender formed the heart of the Cambuur defense; Pier Alma , Johan Derksen and Johan Zuidema were among his teammates. Leo Beenhakker was his coach for his last three seasons at Cambuur . In ten seasons Onsman came to 276 league appearances, in which he scored five goals.

In 1975 he returned to LVV Friesland, with whom he was promoted to the Hoofd class in his first year . Long after his time in the first team, he still played in the club's senior team; He completed his last match on May 26, 2010. He also worked as a youth coach, archivist and as a member of the board of his club for twelve years. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the association, he was made an honorary member.
