from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lasarevskoye Ferris Wheel is located in Lasarevskoye, a district in the Lasarewski Rajon, a town of Sochi in the Krasnodar Region in the Federal District of Southern Russia . The Ferris wheel built in 2002 by the Russian company Pax with a diameter of 80 meters and a total height of 83 meters is the largest Ferris wheel in Russia.

It was first installed in the Admiral Vrungel amusement park in Gelendzhik , where it was in operation until 2004. With the closure of the park, it was dismantled and taken to Samara , where it was to be rebuilt. In 2010 it was almost ready for use there, but - according to the manufacturer - it could not go into operation for "political reasons" and was dismantled again. In 2012, it was rebuilt in Lazarevskoye, northwest of the center of Sochi, and went into operation on June 30, 2012.
