The Rifugio Barbustel (also Rifugio Barbustel Lac Blanc) is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Graian Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2132  m in the Valle di Champdepraz valley in the Lac Blanc district within the municipality of Champdepraz . The hut is managed from the end of June to mid-September and during this time offers 40 mountaineers sleeping places.

The refuge is located within the natural park Parco naturale del Mont Avic .

Ascent

The ascent to the hut begins in the hamlet of Cort , which belongs to Champorcher .

The entire route (trail markers 10 and 10c) from the parking lot near Cort to the Rifugio Barbustel is about 1 hour 40 minutes, which is not difficult. Alternatively, the hut can be accessed within 3 hours from the La Veulla district (markings 5 ​​and 5c).

history

The refuge was built by the entrepreneur Luigi Berger and inaugurated in 1997.

Tour possibilities

An abundance of small glacial lakes such as Lago Bianco, Lago Nero and Lago Cornù can be reached from the hut. The paths to the lakes Gran Lago and Lago Gelato are a little more demanding.

Transitions

  • Transition to the Rifugio Dondena refuge - ( 2110  m ) over the Mont Glacier ( 3186  m ) and the Col Fussi ( 2912  m )
  • Transition to the Val Clavalité valley via the Col Medzove ( 2614  m )
