The Rifugio Savoia is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Graian Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2534  m on the Laghi di Nivolet, not far from the Colle del Nivolet pass within the municipality of Valsavarenche . The hut is open from the beginning of June to the end of September and offers sleeping places for 60 mountaineers during this time.

The top of the pass at Colle del Nivolet separates the Valle dell'Orco on the Piedmont side from the Valsavaren Valley, a southern side valley of the Aosta Valley.

The refuge is located within the Gran Paradiso National Park . The Rifugio Città di Chivasso is only 1 km away.

Ascent

The ascent to the hut in the Pont district ( 1960  m ) begins on the Valdostan side . The entire route from the large car park in Pont to the Rifugio Savoia, which is not difficult, takes about 2½ hours. From Piedmont, the hut can be reached from Rifugio Guido Muzio via a former royal hunting trail (approx. 4 hours), and during the summer months also by car or by bus from Ceresole Reale .

Tour possibilities

An abundance of small glacial lakes such as Lago Rosset and Laghi Trebecchi can be reached from the hut.
