Riina Valgmaa

Riina Valgmaa (born March 30, 1952 in Tartu , married Kaarli (1971-1979), Arulaane (1979-1994) and since 1994 Jõesaar ) is an Estonian badminton player .

life and career

Riina Valgmaa won the first national title in 1967 in the Estonian SSR . By 1978 she won a total of ten titles in her home country, six of them in doubles and two each in mixed and singles.

The even more successful Reet Valgmaa is her twin sister. Both father Helmut was an athlete and sports educator. The sisters first played basketball before starting badminton at the age of fourteen under the guidance of their father.
