Riitta Myller

Riitta Mailis Mirjami Myller (born July 12, 1956 in Joensuu ) is a Finnish politician of the Social Democratic Party of Finland and was a member of the European Parliament until 2009 .

Riitta Myller was born in Joensuu in 1956, where she also went to school. She later studied social education and then social sciences with a focus on sociology at the University of Tampere , where she graduated with a Master of Arts . From 1983 to 1987 she worked at Yleisradio as a freelance journalist.

She was a member of the Joensuu City Council from 1980 to 1995 and a member of the Finnish Parliament from 1987 to 1994 .

In 1995 Myller was elected to the European Parliament, where she was a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Delegation for relations with the Gulf States . She belongs to the Socialist Group in the European Parliament . In July 2009 she finished her work in the European Parliament after three electoral terms. She is now active on the city council of her hometown Joensuu.

Riitta Myller is not married.
