Herigonius is an impact crater on the front of the moon on the western edge of Oceanus Procellarum , northeast of Gassendi crater . The crater is little eroded, the rim irregular with a largely flat crater floor.

A ridge of the Dorsa Ewing runs north and the ridge system of the Rimae Herigonius runs to the west .

The crater was officially named in 1935 by the IAU after Pierre Hérigone (1580–1643).
