Rimantas Didžiokas

Rimantas Didžiokas (born October 25, 1953 in Bagaslaviškis , district of Širvintos ) is a Lithuanian engineer, professor and former politician .

Life

After graduating from high school from 1960 to 1971, Didžiokas graduated from Kauno politechnikos institutas in 1976 and became a mechanic for food machines. From 1986 to 1987 and from 1993 to 1994 he continued his education at the TU Dresden . From 1995 to 1996 he took part in the program for young scientists, funded by the “ Volkswagen Foundation ”. Then he did his doctorate. From 1976 to 1991 he taught at the Kauno politechnikos institutas and from 1992 to 1996 at the Klaipėdos universitetas in Klaipėda , 2000 head of the chair of mechanics .

From 1995 to 1996 and 2003–2007 he was a member of the Klaipėda City Council , from 1996 to 2000 a member of the Seimas , and from 1999 to 2000 the Lithuanian Minister of Transport .

He has been a member of Tėvynės sąjunga since 1993 .
