Rimas Andrikis

Rimas Andrikis (born December 7, 1950 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian politician , Seimas member since November 2016 , former lawyer , chairman of the Lithuanian Bar Association and judge .

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Andrikis graduated in 1977 with a law degree from the Vilnius University Faculty of Law and from 1975 worked as a technician in the criminalistics laboratory at the Faculty of Law. Later he was a judge in the 3rd District Court in Vilnius . From 1980 to 1992 he worked as a judge at the Supreme Court of Lithuania .

Rimas Andrikis was admitted to the bar in 1992 and later worked as a legal advisor to the President of Lithuania (1993–1995) and from 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the Revision Council of the Lithuanian Bar Association. From March 2002 to April 18, 2008, he headed the Lithuanian Bar Association (LAT). Andrikis works in the law firm "SPES". His main focus is criminal law and criminal procedure law . From April 22, 2015 to November 2016, he was a member of the Vilnius Municipality Council . From November 16, 2016, he was a member of the Seimas Legal Committee. Since November 22, 2016, he has been the deputy chairman of the European Committee and since November 14, 2016 deputy chairman of the parliamentary group Tvarka ir teisingumas .

Andrikis is a member of the Tvarka ir teisingumas party.

Andrikis is divorced. He has the son of Ramūnas.
