Lithuanian Bar Association
The Lithuanian Bar Association (lit. Lietuvos advokatūra ) is a national association of lawyers in Lithuania . Its headquarters are in Vilnius . The supervisory authority is the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania . The chamber brings together 2,000 lawyers and 800 paralegals .
history
In December 1920 the Council of Sworn Lawyers ( Prisiekusiųjų advokatų taryba ) was formed. In 1923, sworn attorneys were appointed judges because the courts had too much work to do. From 1927, the services were also provided pro bono .
