history

Rimbo HK was founded in 1973. The historical roots of the association lie in the Skepptuna IK . Field handball was first played there. The club later trained in Märsta ; indoor handball has been played in Rimbo since the 1960s. The women’s team soon played in Division 2, with games often being played on Saturdays and Sundays for reasons of cost. The independent handball club was founded under Oskar Lindhé.

The women mostly played in the school sports hall in Rimbo. The club was named Rimbo HK because there was already a club called Rimbo IF (Idrottsförening) at the same location. The new club played under the name Skepptuna / Rimbo HK in Division 3. The colors of the club were yellow and white; this was changed to green when the club omitted the addition Skepptuna. In 2009 the women's team was able to celebrate promotion to the first division, the Elitserien . But could not hold there.

The men rose in 2010 to the 2nd division, the Allsvenskan. Three years later, the team rose to the Elitserien . After only one season, Rimbo HK had to step into the Allsvenskan.
