Rincon is a place on the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean Netherlands .
history
Rincon is the oldest settlement on the island. It was founded by the Spaniards in 1527. Due to its location in a fertile valley between the hills in the north of the island, it was not visible from the sea and was therefore protected from pirates . The slaves imported to Bonaire were settled in Rincon. In 1863 slavery was abolished. Many of Rincon's residents are descendants of the slaves.
Culture
Annual festivals include Simidan (harvest festival) and the Dia di Rincon (April 30th).

- Rincon Noord with 833 inhabitants
- Rincon Zuid with 1008 inhabitants
