history

The Ringbrot-Werke were founded in 1917 by the bourgeois master bakers Alois Neuhauser and Franz Obermeyr in Linz- Urfahr . As early as 1920, 11,000 loaves of bread were produced industrially here every day. The location was chosen at that time because a direct connection to the Mühlkreisbahn was possible here.

On February 3, 1980, the ring bakery in Linz was destroyed by a major fire in the area of ​​the ovens. In 1986 the company with 150 employees had to file for bankruptcy. At that time the company was taken over by the food manufacturer Ed. Haas Austria taken over.

In 2014, the ring was taken over by the baked goods manufacturer Pan & Co. But after the death of the company founder things went steeply downhill. On June 9, 2015, Pan & Co and their subsidiaries RING, Konditorei Blaschke, Salzkammergut Bäckerei and P&C Kaffee had to file for bankruptcy. Most of the branches were taken over by Resch & Frisch .
