Ring of Evangelical Congregation Scout

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ring Evangelischer Gemeindepfadfinder (REGP) is an evangelical scout association in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

In 2013, about 6,300 children and young people in 103 tribes belonging to the respective parish belonged to the REGP . Nine parishes with around 300 children outside the North Church are associated. Most of the tribes are led by full-time pastors and deacons , while the small groups are usually led by volunteers.

history

The association emerged from independent evangelical scout groups that were founded in Schleswig-Holstein in the 1980s and 1990s . The founders of the groups were, however, networked with each other on business and private. In 1995 they joined together to form a working group, which was converted into the REGP association in 1996 at the request of the North Elbian Church. The nucleus was the scout group that was formed in 1984 in the Evangelical Church Community of Grube in Ostholstein and saw itself in the tradition of former scout work - YMCA- oriented - in a Kiel parish; hence the green driving shirt and the anchor cross and cross on the globe (ball cross) . The Luther rose was added in 1996 as an association badge.
