The annular skirt is a cliff in front of the Mawson Coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands . It is located 3 km southeast of the island of Nøstet in Holme Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who named the rock as Ringøya (Norwegian for ring island ), mapped it using aerial photos taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . A sled team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions visited him in 1956 and made an adaptation of the name.
