    Ring of Elysium ( Chinese :无限法则) is a free to play Battle Royale game that of Tencent Games develops and Tencent Games and Garena has been released. In North America and parts of Asia, it was released on Steam as a free game in Early Access on September 19, 2018 , and it was released on the European servers on November 25, 2018.

    Season 1

    Up to sixty people are trapped in a snow mountain that has been hit by the devastating snowstorm '' Ymir ''. The only way out is a rescue flight, in which only up to four people can be transported. The survivors must therefore escape the impending storm and take out the competitors.

    Season 2

    Since January 16, 2019, the snow map has been replaced by the map " Europe ", where players must flee from the devastating ash of the volcano.

    Gameplay

    At the beginning, the player chooses where he wants to land and from there goes in search of suitable equipment such as weapons and armor.

    Players can equip themselves with either a bicycle , climbing gear with a grappling hook, or a hang glider to traverse the terrain and adapt to fights and other intense situations. On the old snow map, players also had a snowboard and climbing equipment available. It can be played in both third and first person mode .

    Development and publication

    Ring of Elysium is a redevelopment of an earlier game called Europa . The game was developed with the QuickSilverX engine from Tencent Games.

    It first went through a closed beta test phase for the Garena launcher, which started on February 28, 2018 and should end on July 10, 2018 for their Thailand server and on June 4, 2018 for their Indonesian server. However, the country ban could already be bypassed after the release by changing the country in the launcher.

    It was released in early access on November 19 in North America, on November 20 in Asia and on November 25 in Europe.

    The game is compared to the computer game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or Fortnite due to the battle royale theme . It received largely positive reviews on Steam. The game principle and the graphics for a free-to-play game are praised .
