particularities | Hotel Ringberghaus |
The Ringberg with the Hotel Ringberghaus is a 745.2 meter high mountain in the urban area of Suhl in Thuringia .
The Ringberg is considered a secondary peak of the Adlersberg in the Thuringian Forest . The Ringberg, which is used for forestry, is located on the eastern outskirts of the city and is touched on the southern slope by the L 1140 state road, from which several access roads branch off. The zoo in Suhl is also on the road.
The Hotel Ringberghaus is located at the top and was originally a VdgB vacation hotel. It was opened in 1979 with the aim of enabling farmers from rural areas of the GDR to spend a holiday in the mountains of the Thuringian Forest, and at the same time it was to serve as a symbol of socialism in the city of Suhl.
