The Ringturm is a skyscraper in Cologne in the Neustadt-Nord on Ebertplatz .

history

The Ringturm was completed in 1973 on behalf of the Cologne-based insurance company Gerling , which wanted a representative and widely visible landmark. The skyscraper is located on the central Ebertplatz on the Cologne rings , after which the tower was named. The building itself is located in downtown Cologne, its address is Theodor-Heuss-Ring 1.

The reinforced concrete tower with a height of 109.1 meters is clad with an aluminum curtain wall suspended in front of it . The building has a characteristic geometric structure that is modeled on a heptagon . It has a living and office space of 6507 m², which is spread over 26 floors. Offices are located on the first 10 floors. An integrated parking garage with an area of 2380 m² belongs to the high-rise.

The Gerling Group used the building itself until 2011. In March 2011, Gerling sold the building to a project developer who marketed it as condominiums. The adjacent multi-storey car park has 6 new apartments that are accessible from the Ringturm. Since it was converted into living space, the converted Ringturm has consisted of 89 apartments, some of which are used for commercial purposes. It is the 6th tallest skyscraper in Cologne.
