Risto Mannisenmäki (born May 28, 1959 ) is a former Finnish rally co-driver.

Career

Risto Mannisenmäki started his motorsport career in 1982 as a rally co-driver in the 1000 Lakes Rally . From 1985 to 1989 he competed as a co-driver in a few World Rally Championship and European Rally Championship races in Finland.

He achieved his first rally victory with Sebastian Lindholm in a Lancia Delta Integrale in 1990 at SM Pohjola-ralli . In 1991 and 1992 he competed in the ERC with Janne Vuopala.

In 1993 he and Mika Sohlberg celebrated his second rally victory in a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 at the SM Satakunta Ralli . In 1995 he moved to Tapio Laukkanen and drove with him until 1997 in a VW Golf GTI, mostly in ERC races and in the British Rally Championship.

From 1998 to 2001 Mannisenmäki was co-pilot with Tommi Mäkinen . Together with him, he became World Rally Champion in 1998 and 1999 .

After an accident at the Corsica Rally , he had to end his active career in 2001. He started again in 2003 together with Juuso Pykälistö in a Peugeot 206 WRC in the Rally Great Britain and finished ninth. After that, he did not start any more races.
