Rita Ottervik
Rita Irene Ottervik (born September 11, 1966 in Hitra ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She is the mayor of the city of Trondheim .
Life
From 1998 Rita Ottervik was a member of the Fylkesting of the former Sør-Trøndelag Province . From 1992 to 1996 she was a member of the board of directors and secretary of the Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking , the youth organization of the Norwegian Labor Party. From 1996 to 1997, during his entire term in office, she was a member of the advisory staff to the Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland . She has been a member of the Trondheim City Council since 1999, and municipal director (Kommunalråd) from 1999 to 2003. She has been Mayor of Trondheim since 2003, succeeding Anne Kathrine Slungård ( Høyre ). In 2009, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg tried to win Rita Ottervik for a ministerial post in the Stoltenberg II cabinet , but she refused.
Rita Ottervik is married and has one son.
