Anne Kathrine Slungård (born January 14, 1964 in Meråker ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre . From 1998 to 2003 she was mayor of the western Norwegian city of Trondheim .

Political career

After having been a member of Trondheim's city ​​council since 1992 , she was elected mayor of the city on April 1, 1998. She remained in office until October 9, 2003. In between, she was represented from August 2001 to June 2002. She was 34 years old when she was elected mayor, making Slungård the youngest person to hold mayor's office in Trondheim after her election.

In 1997 she stood for the first time for the former province of Sør-Trøndelag in an election for the Norwegian parliament, the Storting . However, she only became a member of Vararé , not a direct MP. She also ran again in the elections in 2001 , 2009 and 2013 , but was unable to achieve a mandate.

From 2003 Slungård was Vice-Chair of the Norwegian Ski Federation. Between 2004 and 2005 she was Head of Communications at SINTEF , a Norwegian research organization headquartered in Trondheim. In addition, she was chair of the Statoil works council and, from 2007, a member of the Siemens executive board in Norway. There she took over the position of CEO after her predecessor Hans Lødrup resigned on allegations of corruption.

From 2017 to 2019 she was Rådmann, i.e. head of administration, of the municipality of Stjørdal . At the end of 2019 it was announced that she would become the head of the Trondheim symphonic orchestra in spring 2020 .

Private

Slungård is married and has four children. Two of the children are from their first marriage.
