Rita Varnienė

Rita Varnienė (* as Rita Dambravaitė on May 9, 1973 in Vilkaviškis ) is a Lithuanian chess player .

Life

After graduating from the "Aušros" secondary school in Vilkaviškis in 1991, Rita Dambravaitė completed her bachelor's degree in 1995 at the computer science faculty of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas . Her first coach was her father Kęstutis Dambrava, head and coach of the Širvinta chess club in the district of Vilkaviškis .

Varnienė was Lithuanian women's individual champion in 1991 and 1999, vice-champion in 1990, 1992 and 2000, and in 1993 and 2002 she took 3rd place in the women's individual championships. In 1992 , 2000 and 2002 she represented Lithuania at the women's chess Olympiads . She also took part with Lithuania in the 1999 European Women's Team Championship. With Širvinta Vilkaviškis she took part in the European Club Cup for women in 1999 and 2000 .
