Rita Wennmacher

Rita Wennmacher (born Rita Deckers ; born March 30, 1939 in Aachen ) is a Luxembourgish author and journalist .

Life

Wennmacher, who was born in Aachen and grew up in Luxembourg , worked for a short time in teaching after graduating from high school and later in the commercial sector. She married in 1961 and moved to Trier with her husband and two sons in 1966 .

As a correspondent , she wrote cultural-historical articles from the mid-1980s to shortly before the turn of the millennium, which were published in the Luxembourg press.

After a long break from writing, she changed genre and turned to writing crime novels . In her regional crime thrillers, the author connects her hometown Luxembourg with her adopted home town Trier and forces the commissioners and the commissioners to work together. She fondly reminds of historical similarities and today's peculiarities of the residents on both sides of the Moselle.
