Bärenthoren manor
The Bärenthoren manor , also known as Bärenthoren Castle, is a listed building in the Bärenthoren district of the city of Zerbst in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . The manor is listed in the local monument register under registration number 094 41167 as a monument . It has the address Forststraße 23 .
history
The first documentary mention of the manor von Bärenthoren dates back to 1572. Until 1843 the manor was owned by Princess Albertine Charlotte Auguste von Wahlbeck and Pyrmont and was then acquired by the district administrator and chamberlain Friedrich von Kalitsch . In 1884 Friedrich von Kalitsch inherited the manor from his father. Friedrich was the founder of the Bärenthorer Kiefernwirtschaft , a 193 hectare forest cultural monument, and later became the Royal Prussian Forest Assessor . In 1891 Friedrich took over the Polenzko estate from his father and laid the foundation stone for the new building of the manor for the castle. The construction was completed in 1892. Extensions at the castle were made in the years 1897, 1900 and 1920. After the expulsion of the owners in 1948, the castle was as Feierabendheim and later as a nursing home use.
Today the DRK care center Marie von Kalitsch is located in the palace complex .
The park belonging to the castle was transformed into a landscape park in 1920 . The grave of Friedrich von Kalitsch is in this park.
