The Brandenstein Manor , also known as Brandenstein Manor or Brandenstein Castle, is a listed building in the Brandenstein district of the town of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the manor is listed as a monument under registration number 094 76224 .

General

The manor chapel belonging to the manor was built in 1911. The complex also includes a four-sided farmyard with administrators' house and outbuildings as well as a park with a grotto. The manor complex is located on the south-eastern outskirts.

history

The manor complex was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The manor house was built in 1900 by the von Arnim family with elements of Art Nouveau . It remained in the von Arnim's family until it was expropriated during the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945. It was used as a children's home from 1945 to 1992. After the fall of the Wall , Bernd von Arnim bought the manor back. Today it is used again as the home of the von Arnim family. The administration rooms of the Arnim forest administration are located in the basement.

layout

The front of the mansion is single-storey with a central projection. At the northern end there is a round tower with a large alliance coat of arms of Achim Friedrich Hans von Arnim and his wife Anna Maria, née von Wietersheim . There is a corner pavilion at the south end of the building. The garden facade is two-storey, spanned by a round arch, which is connected to the side of the corner pavilion with a closed bay porch. Most of the rooms are equipped with coffered and stucco ceilings as well as wood paneling.
