The Gutskapelle in Brandenstein is a chapel in the Brandenstein district of Krüssau in the city of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt . In the register of monuments for the city of Möckern , the chapel is registered as a monument under registration number 094 76145 .

Location and description

The manor chapel is located on the grounds of the manor in Brandenstein.

The dome of the chapel is a wooden lantern with a copper cross. The interior is furnished with elements of Art Nouveau. The altar and pulpit, made of oak, stand on a low pedestal and are framed by a railing. There are stained glass in the windows to the right and left of the main entrance. These stained glass show the coats of arms of the patronage families Hans von Arnim and his wife Anna geb. from Wietersheim . The chapel has more than 100 seats. The bell in the chapel was originally in the village church of St. Andrew and dates from 1480. After the chapel was built, it was hung from the village church. Behind the chapel was the von Arnim family cemetery and has been used again since the von Arnim family returned.

The manor chapel in Brandenstein was built in 1911. In the place of the manor chapel there was previously a manor house, which burned down in 1806. The inauguration of the chapel took place in 1911 in the presence of the patronage family von Arnim, the population of Brandenstein, some dignitaries and the clergy from the neighboring villages. The inauguration was carried out by General Superintendent Stolte.

It was not until April 30, 1992 that the Brandenstein manor chapel in the Krüssau parish was recognized as an independent parish .
