Order of Knights of St. Blaise

The order of knights of St. Blaise , l'Ordre de St. Blaise , was an order of knights in the Crusader state of Lesser Armenia . His patron saint was the ancient bishop of Sebaste of Asia Minor and the martyr Blasius .

The order was founded around 1118 and was under the care of the House of Lusignan . Its members can be classified as fanatical. The beginning of the order probably coincided with that of the Templars . The aim of the order was to spread the Roman Catholic faith and to combat those of other faiths, also with armed force. The order went out in the 13th century.

Order decoration

The order decoration was a red cross with the image of St. Blaise on a white coat .
