The Knights stinging is an old popular entertainment, which gives priority to fairs will be held and in the Oberlausitz and Northern Bohemia can be found. While the men can compete in eagle shooting , this game is mainly intended for young women.

The aim of knight stinging is to hit the heart of a self-made knight figure with a lance while blindfolded . In a tree-lined alley at the fair , the women are caught by the men and they are blindfolded. The lance is given to the women and they must try to hit the knight's heart.

The one who hits the best is declared a queen knight and ceremoniously taken to a pub together with the winner of the eagle shooting. It used to be the custom to hang the knight figure as a trophy on the parents' house. An example of this is the equestrian house in Neusalza-Spremberg , on the gable of which such a figure is attached. It was won in 1874 by Christiane Louise Schniebs at the knight jump in Lauba .

Knight stinging probably has its origin in lancing the knight tournaments of the Middle Ages .
