Say

There are two legends about the knight's stone . According to one, a black knight should lie under the stone . He tried in the 12./13. Century, at the time of the German immigration to the region, to conquer the peninsula Mönchgut , but died in battle. The burial took place under the stone. His horse is lying under the smaller stone. The stone has been haunted since then. At certain times you would meet a wild hunter or black knight, but you had to be on your guard against them.

Another legend takes place during the Seven Years' War . A troop defeated near Stresow had fled via Altensia in the direction of Mönchgut, where they were followed. Arrived at Selliner See, the unit had to flee around the lake. However, their leader drove his horse into the lake and crossed it directly, reaching the other shore of the lake, the area where the knight's stone is today. He and his horse would then have been fatally hit by a cannonball that would have been fired from a sloop lying in the Baaber Bek . He was buried on the spot and then the big stone was rolled over the grave. The stone has been called the Knight's Stone since then.
