The RiverCentre (formerly the Civic Center ) is a conference center in Saint Paul , Minnesota .

The arena

The St. Paul Civic Center was a multi-purpose hall in Saint Paul , Minnesota . It opened on January 1, 1973 and held over 18,400 spectators. It was used for hockey events and concerts; Eric Clapton played here as part of his Pilgrim World Tour .

In 1999 it was demolished and replaced by the Xcel Energy Center .
