Forbes Ridge is a 11 km long mountain range in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains , it extends from Mount McClintock in a northerly direction along the eastern flank of the Hinton Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1965 after the US geologist Robert B. Forbes of the University of Alaska , participant in two deep freeze operations (1955–1956 and 1962–1963) to explore the region around the McMurdo Sund .
