The Riviera-Côte d'Azur-Zeitung is a German-language foreign publication that has been published in southern France since 1992 with a circulation of around 25,000 copies per month. She reports on the French and Italian Riviera as well as Monaco. The main target groups are German-speaking tourists and residents in the fashionable Mediterranean region between Marseille and Genoa. The editorial team and publisher are based in Nice . In addition to the German-language newspaper, the publishing house called Mediterraneum Editions also publishes the English-language monthly "The Riviera Times" (since 2002) and the address directory "Riviera AZ". Petra Hall is the editor-in-chief and publisher.

The "RCZ" is the only purely German-language newspaper in France. In other French regions there are only bilingual publications (a little over 50 in total). The traditionally German-speaking regions of Alsace and Lorraine no longer have a completely German-language newspaper due to the French language policy .
