Robert Mitchell Awalt (* 9. April 1964 in Landstuhl ) is a former American American Football- player on the position of tight ends played.

Awalt played in the NFL for seven years . In 1987 he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals . The team relocated to Phoenix a year later, changing its name to Phoenix Cardinals. In 1990 he moved to the Dallas Cowboys , where he played for two years. He then went to the Buffalo Bills , with whom he stood in the Super Bowl finals in 1992 and 1993 , which was lost both times. In 1993 he ended his professional career.

In 1987 he was honored by United Press International with their NFL-NFC Rookie of the Year Award.
