Robert Barth (born August 10, 1968 in Memmingen ) is a German speedway motorcycle racer. Barth became four-time long-track world champion and retired from active racing in 2006.

After finishing school, Barth completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic . He passed the master's examination and is a motor vehicle master .

Barth first emerged athletically in 1987 when he became "German Junior Champion". He was able to win the title again the following year. In 1988 he became European and German Bundesliga champions. In 1996 he was third at the World Cup. He was able to secure the world championship title in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. In the Speedway World Championship Grand Prix, Barth appeared as a wildcard driver: GP Germany 1997 Landshut, GP Germany 1998 Pocking, GP Germany 2001 Berlin and GP Czech Republic 2004 in Prague. Barth also drove in the national speedway team for several years. Barth started in foreign leagues in the 1990s in Pilsen / Czech Republic and he also had a brief engagement in the Polish league. Today Barth works successfully as an engine tuner and mentor. Among other things, he looks after the Finnish long-track GP driver Aki-Pekka Mustonen and is the mentor of the only 15-year-old track sports super talent Michael Härtel.

Because of his sporting successes, Barth was voted ADAC Sportsman of the Year in 2005 .
