Robert Bredow

Robert Bredow (born October 9, 1885 in Heubuden , Marienburg district (West Prussia) , † after 1946) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Robert Bredow was born the son of a railway official. After graduating from primary school, he learned the metal forming trade and then worked in this profession. In addition, he attended the technical and advanced training school. He was a union member and worked from November 1921 to 1933 as a union secretary at the ADGB local committee in Berlin , which he chaired in 1928. Furthermore, he carried out voluntary activities, e.g. B. at the employment office and at the labor court. From 1932 to 1933 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament .

Bredow moved to Frankfurt (Oder) in 1933 , was unemployed for several years and later worked in the insurance industry. During this time he was imprisoned several times in concentration camps by the National Socialists . After the end of the war he was chairman of the SPD Treptow .
