Robert Cogniaux

Robert Cogniaux (born May 29, 1934 in Asse , Flemish Brabant ) is a former Belgian archer .

Cogniaux participated in three Olympic Games . At the 1972 Games in Munich - archery was back in the program for the first time since 1920 - he just missed the medal ranks with fourth place. Four years later he disappointed with rank 23; at the games in Moscow he was able to place ninth. He was the oldest active member of the Belgian Olympic team.

As early as 1959, Cogniaux had been vice world champion with the compound bow as a member of the Belgian team; with the Olympic bow , the Belgians, including Cogniaux again, won the European championship. The best individual placement at a world championship was seventh place in 1973.
