Robert Conn

Robert Conn (born 1969 in Arkansas ) is an American retired dancer , choreographer and ballet director.

Life

Conn started his ballet education in Arkansas and continued it at the North Carolina School of the Arts , where he also graduated.

In 1986 he went to the Joffrey II Dancers , in 1988 to the American Ballet Theater . There he worked with Agnes de Mille and Jerome Robbins, among others . In 1993 he went to Canada to the National Ballet of Canada, where he became principal soloist in 1995. There he danced with the prima ballerina Karen Kain . In 1995 he played a dancer alongside Geena Davis in the film Angie .

In 1997, Robert Conn moved to the Stuttgart Ballet as first soloist, where he ended his career as a dancer in 2003. In January 2001 Conn was director of the dance gala Dance among Friends in Sankt Pölten. In 2004 Conn went to the dance theater in Nuremberg as the head ballet master. In 2005 he also became deputy director there.

Conn also has permission to choreograph ballets by Kevin O'Day, Itzik Galili, Christian Spuck and Dominique Dumais.

In 2007 he married the former prima ballerina Yseult Lendvai , with her he has two sons.

From 2007 to 2017 Conn was ballet director at the Augsburg Theater .
