Robert Frese (born October 26, 1961 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .
Career
Frese played amateurs at Werder Bremen . After an injury to the regular goalkeeper of the Bundesliga team Werders, Dieter Burdenski , the representative Hermann Rülander stood between the posts and Frese moved up as a substitute goalkeeper in the first division team. It was the 14th match day of the 1981/82 season when he took his place on the bench in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt . After Rülander had conceded seven goals by the 78th minute, Frese made his Bundesliga debut. Coach Otto Rehhagel no longer trusted Rülander and let Frese play the rest of the game. He could not prevent two more goals, so that Werder's highest Bundesliga defeat was recorded, the game ended 2: 9.
