Robert Gaden (actually Robert Henry Gaden-Gädeke ; born August 23, 1893 in Bordeaux , France , † October 1, 1985 in Berlin-Zehlendorf) was a violinist and conductor.

Life

Robert Henry Gaden performed publicly as a soloist at the age of 13 and became a master student of Lucien Capet at the Paris Conservatoire Nationale. When the world war broke out, the family returned to Germany. After the end of the war, Gaden had to switch to light music and directed an artist band, a Diamond King's jazz band and Roberts jazz band; with all the orchestras recordings were made for various companies. In September 1926 he caused a sensation with the world premiere of Ferde Grofé's "Mississippi Suite" on the Berlin German broadcaster. Since 1930 he had an exclusive contract with ( Electrola ). In the 1930s he became famous for the elegant style with his Robert Gaden Tango Orchestra. He preferred to play Argentine tango . As a Robert Gaden dance orchestra, he has recorded all kinds of jazz compositions, film music, slow waltzes and concert titles.

He is mentioned in a series with Otto Dobrindt and Oskar Joost , who also created a series of so-called “Argentine Tangos” that empathized with the world of sound and the abundance of melodies in Latin America.

Robert H. Gaden-Gädeke died blind in old age as a result of a fall. His wife was Ilse Gädeke-Gaden (born in Berlin in 1899).
