Robert H. Park

Robert H. Park (* 1902 in Strasbourg ; † 18th February 1994 in Freeport , Illinois ) was an American engineer of electrical engineering .

The basic form of the d / q transformation , which he first formulated in 1928, goes back to him . This transformation for three-phase systems is also called Park transformation after him .

Park was born in Strasbourg at the time his father, the sociologist Robert Ezra Park , was studying in Germany. Robert H. Park grew up in Wollaston, Quincy, Massachusetts , and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1923 . He worked for various companies and organizations, including General Electric .
