Robert Hart (born November 1, 1958 in Bournemouth ) is a British rock musician and songwriter . He is currently the lead singer of Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Diesel . He has also worked as a soloist in The Distance, Company of Snakes and Bad Company , and was a member of the Jones Gang, a rock group founded by Hart, Rick Wills and Kenney Jones .

Now he appears both as a solo artist and with his own band, the XBad Company, with Dave Colwell and Garry James. He was the first English songwriter to get a contract with Hollywood Records. He wrote several number one hits and a number of songs for movie soundtracks while signed to Roy Orbison's Still Working Music, Disney's Hollywood Records, and Island Records.
