Robert Hoffmann (historian)

Robert Hoffmann (* 1946 ) is an Austrian historian.

Life

Robert Hoffmann studied history at the Universities of Salzburg and Zurich . In 1971 he completed his studies with a dissertation on British Austrian policy during the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 . 1970 to 1972 he completed a research stay at the Institute for European History in Mainz. In 1976 he became a university assistant at the Institute for History. In 1986 he qualified as a professor for “General History of Modern Times and Modern Austrian History”. From 2001 to 2004 he was head of the Institute for History.
