Robert II (Wroclaw)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert II († probably 1146 ) was Bishop of Wroclaw .

Little is known about the origin of Bishop Robert II and his importance. His term of office coincided with new disputes between Poland and Bohemia over territorial claims over Silesia. Despite the contract concluded between the parties in 1115, there were further acts of war in 1131–1133.

Between 1142 and 1146 St. Adalbert's Church in Wroclaw, built in 1112 by Peter Włast's brother Bogusław , was given to the Congregation of Augustinian Canons from Arrouaise in Flanders . Perhaps Robert was a member of this order.
