Robert Kloos (born July 5, 1958 in Dörrebach ) is a German agricultural politician (CDU) . He is married and has one child.

education

From 1981 to 1985 Kloos studied general agricultural sciences at the University of Hohenheim , specializing in economics. In 1989 he received his doctorate at the Institute for Agricultural Policy and Agricultural Market Studies there.

Professional career

In 1989 Kloos became a consultant for general agricultural policy in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests . There he then worked in various functions for over 15 years. Among other things, he was deputy press spokesman, personal advisor and later head of the ministerial office. From 1998 he headed the sub-department for markets and animal products, market structure, direct payments and planning bases. In 2004 he was appointed President of the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food at the suggestion of Renate Künast . From February 2010 to August 2016, Robert Kloos was permanent state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture . Since then he has been the general manager of the Federal Association of Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Field Construction .

Offices

For the CDU , he was the mayor in Kriegsdorf (Troisdorf) from 2000 to 2016 . Robert Kloos is a member of the Board of Directors of Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank .
