Robert Lewis (musician)
Robert "Son Fewclothes" Lewis (born March 10, 1900 in New Orleans ; † June 24, 1964 ibid) was an American drummer ( bass drum ) in brass bands in New Orleans.
He was one of the most famous bass drum players in marching bands in New Orleans. He first played with the Tulane Brass Band and with the band of trumpeter Chris Kelly in the mid-1920s . He played with Kid Rena in the 1930s and then with the Eureka Brass Band for 25 years . After a stroke in 1963, he had to give up the game.
