Robert Marx (lawyer)
Robert Marcus Marx (born April 8, 1883 in Berlin , † December 12, 1955 in Paris ) was a German lawyer and syndic .
Career
Marx was born as the son of the banker Benjamin Marx and Dorothea Katharina Marx, née Edinger. After graduating from high school in 1901, he studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau, Geneva and Berlin and received his doctorate in 1908. From 1913 he was a district judge in Essen, and from 1914 to 1918 he did military service with the rank of officer. From 1921 until his dismissal in 1935 due to his Jewish descent, he was German representative at the arbitration tribunal of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. He was believed to have lived in Monaco during World War II. After the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, he was again a representative in the mixed arbitration tribunal from 1953 to 1955.
