Robert Ouko (politician)
Robert Ouko (as Robert John Ouko ; born March 31, 1931 in Nyahera , near Kisumu in the province of Nyanza ; † February 12, 1990 ) was Foreign Minister of Kenya in the Daniel Arap Moi government from 1979 to 1983 and from 1988 to 1990.
He belonged to the Luo people .
In 1990 he was murdered under circumstances that remain unexplained while investigating corruption cases.
Investigations by the Kenyan police originally spoke of suicide, but his partially burned body was found with multiple broken legs and a shot in the head. Three parliamentary inquiries were canceled; the fourth concluded that Ouko was murdered in a residence of then President Arap Moi.
